Write-back

Writing proven values into the buyer’s original specification spreadsheet. Unproven cells stay blank. Write-back is the product job, not a new document.

Write-back means Orbid works in the file the buyer sent — the locked workbook, the same columns — and writes a cell only when catalog evidence supports it. If the cell cannot be proved, it stays empty. The empty cells are the gap list for the factory. Write-back is not drafting a new specification, not completing a form for the sake of completeness, and not generating a prose proposal.

What is written

A written cell is a product and commercial commitment. It must match a SKU the desk sells. The source is the catalog row, not a language model guess. The buyer receives their original columns back, filled where evidence exists.

What stays blank

Unmatched requirements stay blank on purpose. Filling them with a plausible number would invent a spec. Blanks are the next SKU to learn, not a failure to “complete the sheet.”
