Catalog match

Binding each required row in the buyer’s spreadsheet to a SKU the desk sells. Match, partial, or gap — with catalog evidence. No invented spec.

Catalog match is how Orbid decides whether a cell may be written. Each required row is compared to products in your catalog. A match means the catalog supports the cell. Partial means the row is related but not fully proved. A gap means nothing you sell covers the requirement. Only proved cells are written back into the original columns.

Evidence, not fluency

The source of a match is the catalog row, not generated prose. If two wordings describe the same SKU, the match can still hold. If the catalog is silent, the cell stays blank. That is the opposite of a chatbot completing every field.

After the match

Proven cells go to write-back. Gaps become the blank-cell list for the factory. The pack gate has already refused service and install files. Healthcare-equipment catalogs use the same matcher; FDA or EU MDR evidence for a device desk is industry context, not a second product loop.
